A New Chapter Begins: PSRN SC BPKIHS Welcomes the 17th Executive Committee

Physicians for Social Responsibility Nepal Students’ Chapter at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences has officially marked an important transition as the tenure has been handed over to the 17th Executive Committee. This moment signifies not only a change in leadership but also the continuation of a strong tradition of student-led advocacy, academic engagement, and commitment to social responsibility in healthcare. 




The event was made glorious by the presence of Prof. Dr. Robin Maskey from Department of Internal Medicine, Dr. Pramod Baral from Department of Orthopedics and Dr. Augraj Uprety from the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Over the years, the Students’ Chapter has played a vital role in promoting awareness on key public health and social issues, organizing academic discussions and campaigns, and encouraging students to actively participate in community-oriented initiatives. The outgoing executive committee has contributed significantly to maintaining these standards and strengthening the presence and impact of PSRN within the institution. 


            
                                         

The 17th Executive Committee is led by Aditya Sharma as President, with Binam Jung Mahat serving as Immediate Past President (IPP). The Vice Presidents are Bandana Mugrati and Sneha Shrestha, while Samiksha Dhungana serves as Secretary and Sundar Bhusal and Unisha Tiruwa as Joint Secretaries. Financial responsibilities are handled by Siddhartha Bagale as Treasurer and Aanand Mehta as Joint Treasurer. 





The Creative Designers team includes Aayam Kattel, Prabha Panthi, Chandan Sony, Bibash Chhetri, and Sami Bista, contributing to media and design efforts. The Activities Coordinators—Saurav Bhattarai, Soniya Tamang, Suraksha Sapkota, Aayush Nepal, and Pragya Khatiwada—will lead the planning and execution of various initiatives. The Radio Program Coordinators are Praveen Bhattarai, Bhuwan Pandey, and Swastika Kharel, while the School Health Coordinators include Preezal Thapa, Babita B.K., Swastika Dhital, Aayush Adhikari, Sumee Pandey, Subina Gautam, and Jiya Poddar. Community Health Coordinators—Mohini Limbu, Isha Rauniyar, Debaki Khadka, Anushruti Gaire, Subash Yadav, and Namrata Basnet—will play key roles in outreach and community-based programs. Additional roles further strengthen the committee’s structure. The Dental Health Coordinators include Bikram Dhami, Keyush Rai, Nawin Kumar Sah, and Nimisha Budhathoki, while Sandesh Timilsina and Shailendra Kumar Chaudhary serve as Asset Incharges. Social media presence will be managed by Anup Ghimire and Prakriiti Khanal, and public relations will be handled by Aroza Khatri Chhetri, Kritika Basnet, Anjali Gurung, and Sushmita Chaulagain. 


         

Notably, the introduction of a new post, Sports Coordinator, marks an expansion in student engagement, with Shailendra Khatri, Manoj Singh Bhandari, and Rijan Gautam taking on this responsibility. The committee is further supported by enthusiastic general members from various batches. From the 2023 batch, members include Ayush Kumar Yadav, Arya Rasaili, Basant Raj Bista, Sonali Kumari Singh, Manish Gupta, and Aaron Shah. From the 2024 batch, members include Anamol Gautam, Anjali Aryal, Bandana Sharma, Bhubaneshwar Tujpuriya, Sabina Chaudhary, Yashashwee Pradhan, and Kushi Kumari Sah. From the 2025 batch, the team includes Alisha Gautam, Pragati Khatiwada, Kritanjali Gautam, Puskar Aryal, Prasuna Thapaliya, Rashani Karki, Rachana Karki, Asmit Kumar Shah, Sanjaya Pandit, Sadikshya Adhikari, Amar Yadav, Jiwan Kumar Bhujel, Bijay Sapkota, Kabita Kayle, Mammon Kumar Pandey, Nikita Subedi, Nishant Rauniyar, Nishma Adhikari, Rajan Diwakar Yadav, Ranita Neupane, Santosh Joshi, Sukhem Baral, Sugarika Lamichhane, and Supreme Shah. 


 

With such a diverse and dedicated team, the 17th Executive Committee brings fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of purpose. As the new tenure begins, there is strong optimism that the committee will build upon the legacy of its predecessors and continue to make meaningful contributions to both academic and community spheres. The institution extends its best wishes to the entire team for a successful and impactful journey ahead.
